RAWANG - A Nepali security guard was murdered, allegedly by his own colleague, and dumped into a septic tank at a factory in Taman Industri Masala here.
Police said that the victim, Dinesh Kumar Rai, 27, and the suspect began their shift at the steel factory at about 7pm Wednesday. They were the only two at the area at the time.
The pair had been working at the factory, which has been empty since 2013, since the beginning of the month and were staying at a flat in Jalan Rawang Perdana.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad said the suspect returned home at about 4.30am Thursday, in what his roommate Dal Bahadur Gurung described as a frantic state.
"He said the suspect's clothes were soaked in blood and his hand was bandaged. The suspect was seen packing his things.
"When Dal Bahadur asked where Dinesh Kumar was, the suspect said that the victim and four other accomplices apparently attacked him. The suspect said he had to flee as he was scared," he said.
Dal Bahadur phoned their employer, who went looking for Dinesh Kumar at the factory only to find the man dead inside a septic tank about 70m from the factory's guardhouse.
ACP Ali said the Dinesh Kumar had a nylon rope wrapped around his neck and a stab wound on the back of his head. His body was scratched all over, indicating the victim had been dragged, he said.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel managed to extricate the body at 8pm, which was then taken to the Selayang Hospital for a post-mortem.
"We are on the lookout for the suspect, who has not been seen since Thursday morning. The case has been classified as murder,"
