PETALING JAYA: Sex bloggers Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee - better known by their nickname Alvivi - have had their Facebook page permanently shut down after posting a controversial Buka Puasa greeting.

The couple are to turn up at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today to have their statements recorded.

Writing on their joint Twitter account @AlviviSwingers Friday, they said that their Facebook page was now closed after the website received "strong negative feedback" from users.

They then used foul language in their following tweets, blaming the public, media and Facebook staff for their account's closure.

"You may shut us down now, but we'll be back. And we'll be stronger & better than ever!" they wrote on Saturday.

The couple had drawn the wrath of many netizens - both Muslims and non-Muslims - as their greeting had featured a photograph of them eating bak kut teh.

In less than 24 hours after Thursday's post, they received over 500 comments, all of which lambasted them over their lack of sensitivity towards Malaysian Muslims.

Tan had earlier told The Star that they had posted the greeting for "no reason. Just a joke, I guess".

After overwhelming negative feedback, they posted an amended photo on Friday, which showed the pork dish covered with pictures of halal food, together with the message Ampunkanlah Kami (Forgive us)".
