Malaysia singer dies of heart attack after performing in front of girlfriend

A SINGER who went by the stage name "Kang Yu" died of a heart attack during a singing competition in Sungai Siput, Perak, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.

Hong Guo Xing, 53, was the fourth contestant to go on stage during the event featuring 35 others at about 9pm on Sunday.

He sang jue kou bu ti ai ni (Won't Say Loving You Anymore), before coming down from the stage to enjoy fried chicken wings with his girlfriend. He then started to feel dizzy before experiencing a fit. He died shortly after.

Several witnesses said Hong, who had undergone heart surgery in India, was seen trying hard to catch his breath after his performance.
