Sister found dead after scolding brother

SHAH ALAM - A woman scolded her younger brother for playing video games when he should have been studying. This led to a fight that ended in her death.

Panic-stricken, the 18-year-old college student rushed to wake up their parents. He claimed his sister was drunk and had killed herself in the 3am incident on Sunday.

However, his story did not add up to the police. They said that they had found the teenager to be "drunk and weak".

He also had a bottle of liquor in his room.

The victim, 22, is believed to have died from a slash wound to her neck. She was found dead in her blood-soaked pyjamas outside the boy's room at their home in Jalan Kemuning Jaya here. A knife was found beside her body.

The teenager, who has been remanded until Nov 2, told police that he had a heated argument with his sister after she criticised him for playing too many video games.

"He said she came in while he was playing a computer game in his room and scolded him because he had been neglecting his studies," said Shah Alam CID chief Deputy Supt Muhammad Idzam Jaafar.

The victim's body was taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for a post-mortem. The suspect was also sent there for treatment and was detained for investigations after he was discharged.

"He has been cooperative so far. When we interviewed his friends, they were shocked. They said he would never drink and was a quiet person," DSP Muhammad Idzam said, adding that the boy and his sister have an elder sibling.

The victim had been studying at a university in Sabah while her brother, who had completed his SPM, was due to start a pre-university course at a private college next year.
