ALOR SETAR - Eight Thai women said to be involved in vice activities were among 21 foreigners nabbed in an operation by the Kedah Immigration Department.
The women were caught at a spa centre here for violating their social visit passes.
The raiding party comprising 15 officers detained 13 other foreigners at two fried chicken stalls by the roadside, a hardware shop, two more spa centres, a shoplot under construction and a rented house.
Kedah Immigration director Zuhair Jamaludin said besides the Thai women, others detained in the raids were five Indonesians, four Myanmar nationals, two Bangladeshi and two Thai nationals aged between 21 and 47.
He said the operation codenamed Ops Mega was carried out between 3pm and 7pm on Sunday.
"We screened 55 foreigners during the operation," he said.
