PETALING JAYA - Her stepfather claimed that she was found unconscious in the toilet of her family's Lembah Subang flat unit from an epileptic seizure.

The 37-year-old security guard told the police that the 22-year-old girl had been suffering from it throughout her life.

But it was only after her death - a day after the alleged seizure - that the truth began to unravel.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the police arrested the security guard and his 45-year-old wife after a post-mortem on their daughter's body revealed that she was murdered.

The man initially told the police that he found his stepdaughter lying sprawled in the toilet of their People's Housing Project (PPR) flat unit at about 9.30pm on Jan 26.

"He rushed her to the hospital. However, she died the next day."

An autopsy, however, revealed that the victim died from strangulation and suffered blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen.

ACP Mohd Zani said the victim's stepfather later confessed to beating her up in his Proton Waja.

The parents have been in custody since Jan 28 and are to be charged at the Shah Alam High Court today.
