Student groups hold protest demanding Anwar's release

KUALA LUMPUR - A group of youths held a protest in the city here Saturday, demanding the release of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The group, led by student activists Adam Adli Abd Halim and Muhammad Safwan Anang, gathered outside Sogo shopping complex around 4pm Saturday.

Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar, Selangor State Assembly deputy speaker Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Adam Adli addressed the crowd, saying they would march every Saturday.

"Next week, we will bring a much larger number of people as we will continue fighting and never surrender," he said.

The group then marched to Pudu bus station before pledging to keep fighting for Anwar's freedom before dispersing around 6.30pm.
