PETALING JAYA - A small technical glitch forced a Malindo Air flight from Kuching to return to the Kuching International Airport.

According to Malindo Air chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy, flight MXD 1601, took off at 9.35am and was en route to Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 when the glitch was discovered.

"Around 10 minutes into the flight, the pilot discovered a minor technical glitch and as per SOP, turned the flight back around.

"An engineer rectified the problem and the flight resumed around noon," he said when contacted on Saturday.

He added that the delay was much regretted but necessary due to safety precautions.
