Thousands pay tribute to the late Sultan of Perak at Ipoh Starwalk

IPOH - About 15,000 participants of the Ipoh Starwalk 2014 observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the late Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah at the Stadium Indera Mulia.

Prior to the flagging off by Perak Sports Committee chairman Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya at 7am on Sunday, participants bow their heads as they pay homage to the late Sultan.

Also present were Ipoh Datuk Bandar Datuk Harun Rawi, Star Publications (M) Bhd executive director Tan Sri Kamal Hashim and senior regional manager (operations) David Yeoh.

The event is organised by The Star in collaboration with Ipoh City Council, Perak Athletics Association and the Perak Education Department.

The platinum sponsor for the walk is YES, while the silver sponsors are F&N, BP Healthcare, Magnum and the Perak Education Fair.
