KUALA LUMPUR - Two carjackers staged an accident with a Porsche 977 GT2 and drove off with the RM300,000 (S$115,415) vehicle after the driver stopped to check the damage, Harian Metro reported.

A police source told the paper the 35-year-old businesssman was driving home alone from the city centre when he was hit from behind along Jalan Klang Lama in Kuala Lumpur at 1.40am on Sunday.

Not suspecting that the collision was deliberate, he got off his car while two men alighted from the Proton Perdana that had hit his car.

"The two men started making apologies but before the victim could react, one of them whisked out a parang and threatened him," the source said, adding that the suspects then got into the Porsche and sped off.

The businessman, who was not harmed, then called his family and lodged a report at the Brickfields district police headquarters.
