KLANG - There was a nasty traffic snarl here when three cars, a lorry and a bus were involved in an accident at the Simpang Lima roundabout.

The five-tonne lorry took a five-metre nosedive from the flyover at 8.30am yesterday and landed on the road below, closely missing several oncoming vehicles.

The driver of the lorry was trapped underneath his smashed-up vehicle.

The accident created a massive jam at all the roundabout's eight intersections which leads to Port Klang, Banting, Jalan Tengku Kelana, the Federal Highway, Jalan Istana and Teluk Pulai.

The driver, who was in his 50s, was freed by firemen from the Andalas Fire Station and sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah.

According to a Fire and Rescue Department source, the man suffered cuts and a fractured leg.

The road traffic returned to normal by noon.
