Trainee doctor killed in Pahang crash, pharmacist sister hurt

A trainee doctor was killed and her pharmacist sister injured in an accident while on their way to work at the Temerloh hospital in Pahang.

Sin Chew Daily reported that Dr Loh Min Sin, 27, died of severe head injures after losing control of her car and crashing into a lamp post near Kampung Desa Murni at around 6.30am on Tuesday.

Her sister Min Zhi, 24, sustained minor injuries. The report did not say who was driving the car at the time of the accident.

Their brother, who declined to be named, said Min Sin had been serving as a houseman in the anaesthetic department of the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital for the past two years.

"She and Min Zhi rented a house in Temerloh, but came back to Jerantut to have dinner with our parents the day before.

"We did not expect to bid her goodbye so soon," he said, adding that his sisters left the family house in Jerantut for work early that day.

Hospital director Datuk Dr Bahari Che Awang Ngah said Min Sin was a responsible doctor and had performed well.

"She was an easy-going person who got along well with her colleagues and nurses," he said.

Min Sin's colleagues posted condolence messages on Facebook to express their sorrow over her death.
