Two more bodies recovered after accident at Selangor MRT construction site

MALAYSIA - Two more bodies have been found buried at an MRT construction site in Selangor.

Rescuers earlier recovered one body at about 2.30am on Tuesday, after a concrete span collapsed on Monday night.

Malaysian news media, Bernama, reported that the bodies of Bangladeshi construction workers - Mohamed Faruk Khan and Mohammad Alauddin Mollik - were found on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department's assistant director of operations, the bodies were taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for post-mortem.

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has called for a full investigation into the MRT accident.

In earlier reports, MRT Corp CEO Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid has resigned in the wake of the accident.

He was quoted by another Malaysian media, The Star, as saying that he has always been strict over safety measures at MRT sites, but such incidents keep occurring.

But he assured media that he would see the case through and ensure the families of the victims would be given justice.
