GEORGE TOWN - A Uber driver who allegedly molested a Vietnamese woman was beaten up by about 10 people, including the woman's husband.

The woman claimed that she was in the car at about 4pm on Tuesday when the driver took off his pants and exposed his private parts to her before pulling her hand to his crotch.

She had taken the ride from Lintang Paya Terubong to Jalan Argyll.

She arrived home and told her husband about the incident. On Wednesday, the husband located the driver in Lintang Paya Terubong.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said the husband and the others confronted the driver before he was beaten up by about 10 men.

"The suspect sustained injuries on the head, arm and left leg and is currently being treated at the Penang Hospital.

"The suspect's vehicle was also damaged during the incident," he said.
