SEREMBAN - A 97-second clip showing a female police volunteer reserve (PVR) officer slapping two individuals believed to be Indian nationals has been making its rounds on social media.

The woman, who is not in uniform, can be heard in the video telling the men in Punjabi that she had warned them not to create trouble. One of the men is also seen with one of his hands cuffed.

Seremban OCPD ACP Thiew Hock Poh has confirmed that the woman is a PVR officer based here. However, he said the incident happened in Mantin, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Nilai police district.

It is learnt that the PVR officer has also lodged a report over the video.

In the report, which has also gone viral, the woman claimed that she slapped one of the men for uttering profanities.

She said the incident took place at around 3pm on Sunday (March 4) at a restaurant.

The woman said she went to the restaurant after two other Indian nationals claimed that one of the men had taken their passports and some money.

She also called on the authorities to act against one of the men claiming he was an unauthorised foreign worker agent.

Netizens have, however, asked the police to probe the incident and act against the PVR officer for allegedly taking the law into her own hands.
