Woman claims to have been made a 'slave' by her uncles

A 19-year-old woman claimed that she was forced to work for her two uncles at their seafood stall in Penang for free, Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported.

The woman, known only as Hong, claimed that she was "confined" by her uncles, who would make her do house chores before forcing her to work in their stall from 4pm to midnight.

Hong said her nightmare began after her grandparents, whom she had been living with, died last year.

Unable to bear the long hours and hard work, Hong related the incident to her mother, who then brought her to lodge a police report on Tuesday.

When contacted, one of Hong's uncles denied the accusation.

The case is being investigated by police.
