Woman found dead in bathtub with marks on neck in Malaysia

KLUANG - A 31-year-old female clerk was found dead with marks on her neck at her house in Taman Desa here on Tuesday.

She was believed to have been found in the bathtub with her body submerged from waist at about 3pm.

Police believe the woman was murdered due to jealousy or revenge.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Muhamad Laham, who confirmed the case, said that the incident could have happened between 2.30pm and 3.30pm while the victim was at home during her lunch break.

"We are now looking for two suspects to assist investigations," he said, adding that the case had been classified as murder.

He said that according to a witness, the victim was last seen at her office when she went out for lunch but never returned.

It is learnt that the victim's cousin tried to call her cell phone at 3.30pm, but the call was immediately disconnected after it went through.

Sources said the worried relative then alerted the victim's father who rushed to the house.

"They found the main door ajar, but the master bedroom door was locked. They broke open the door and were shocked to find the victim in the toilet," the source said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the Kluang Hospital.

Meanwhile, ACP Muhamad added that the room was in a mess, possibly indicating a struggle in the room, and a gold locket was found beside the bed.

Among the missing items included an iPhone, a Sony Ericsson cell phone, two rings, a gold necklace and one Perodua Myvi key.

He urged witnesses or anyone with information related to the case to contact the police at 07-221 2999 or to go to the nearest police station to assist investigations.
