PETALING JAYA - It was just any other working day for a 51-year-old woman who drives to work at a church in Putrajaya, until an unknown gunman decided to shoot at her on Wednesday.
The administrative officer was targeted at a traffic light at Sierramas, Sungai Buloh, at about 8am.
When she stopped her car at the junction leading to the Sungai Buloh toll plaza, a man got off a motorcycle and opened fired at her several times. Police are still determining how many shots were actually fired.
Sungai Buloh police chief Supt Junaidi Bujang said the woman suffered injuries on her left arm and face.
"She underwent an operation at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
"We will have to wait until she is able to speak.
"The motive behind the attack is still being investigated," he said.
Supt Junaidi added that police recovered two .38 slugs at the scene.
Investigations showed that two men on a motorcycle had stopped near the woman's car before the pillion rider got off and fired at the right side of the car.
