A woman was finally reunited with her mother, two decades after being given away for adoption.
"When I saw my mother waiting for my husband and me at the Kuala Ketil bus station (in Kedah), I was speechless and I started crying," Fatehah Mohd Ali, 24, told Harian Metro.
Fatehah's mother Noor'aini Hashim, 49, had given her away for adoption when she was three months old.
The family was then living in a squatter area in Kuala Lumpur and Noor'aini felt that Fatehah should have a chance to live a better life.
Fatehah discovered that she was an adopted child at nine when she realised that her adoptive father had a different name from her biological father.
Fatehah got married two years ago and began her search for her real mother.
"On May 24, I got to talk to my mother on the phone," she said, adding that they made arrangements then to reunite during Hari Raya.
