Zairil ponders legal action over FB photos

GEORGE TOWN, Penang - Bukit Bendera DAP MP Zairil Khir Johari (pic left) is mulling over the possibility of taking legal action over the posting of photographs said to be of him and a woman in social websites.

The photographs showing someone who looks like him in intimate poses with a woman who looks like DAP candidate in the recent Teluk Intan by-election Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud (pic right) first appeared on Facebook on Saturday.

"I have discussed with my lawyers and will make a decision soon," said Zairil at the Dewi Sri Mahamariamman Bathrakaliamman Temple's Deepavali open house in Batu Ferringhi.

"This is gutter politics at its worst. I am not surprised as there were allegations some time ago on social media that I prefer young girls.

"My phone was also hacked during the Sg Limau by-election in Kedah last November," he added.

Penang Barisan Nasional chairman Teng Chang Yeow deplored the posting of the photographs.

"It's sickening that gutter politics is making news again. It's distasteful.

"I urge the MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) to investigate the source and bring the culprits to book," Teng said in a statement.
