Over 400,000 people have visited Capitaland's new mall in China, Suzhou Center Mall, on its opening day. The mall measures a record one million square metres of retail space, making it the largest mall in Suzhou, east China, and makes it three times the size of ION Orchard in Singapore.

It boasts over 600 retail brands. The mall is located near Suzhou Industrial Park, right next to the historic Jinji Lake and traditional Suzhou city centre. The mall also comprises four office towers, two luxury residential towers and the W Suzhou hotel tower.

Designed by award-winning architectural firm Benoy, Suzhou Center Mall has seven floors and is a new landmark with the world's largest free-form monocoque roof that is shaped like a pair of phoenix wings.

Capitaland now owns 69 malls in China. Across Singapore, China, Malaysia, Japan and India, CapitaLand owns and manages 109 malls, of which 95 are operational.
