Shopping for Chinese New Year can be a fun affair, as you buy yummy treats and new clothes amid traditional Spring Festival tunes and eye-catching decor in stores and malls.

To sweeten the deal, there are promotions and rewards when you shop at Paragon, The Clementi Mall or The Seletar Mall.

At The Clementi Mall, shoppers have until Feb 18 to redeem a set of red packets with a minimum spend of $68.

An exclusive candy tray will be yours when you spend a minimum of $228, or $288 if your receipts include purchases from FairPrice Finest.

The first 1,000 shoppers who charge their purchases to their Citibank M1 Visa Card will receive a $5 The Clementi Mall voucher.

A maximum of three receipts from the same day can be combined for the promotions.

During your shopping excursion, keep the kids entertained at a meet-and-greet session with the God of Fortune, and drum, lion dance and wushu performances on Saturday and Sunday, and on Feb 14 and 15.

At The Seletar Mall, shoppers who spend a minimum of $68 can redeem limited-edition red packets.

HSBC cardholders can enjoy exclusive privileges when they shop at the mall. Charge $168 to any HSBC credit card and receive a $10 The Seletar Mall voucher, or get a limited-edition candy tray when you spend at least $208.

Non-HSBC cardholders have to spend a minimum of $228 to redeem the candy tray.

Promotions at the mall are valid until Feb 18 and a maximum of three receipts from the same day can be used for the promotions. Other terms and conditions apply.

Traditional Chinese cultural performances keep the festive mood alive, with orchestral, acrobatic, drum and dance shows on Saturday and Sunday, and on Feb 14 and 15.

Those shopping in town can enjoy privileges at Paragon. With new stores carrying European fashion labels - Brunello Cucinelli (#01-17/18), Moiselle (#03-01) and Germain (#03-01) - there are more shopping options too.

Shoppers have until Feb 18 to redeem a specially designed set of red packets and a mandarin-orange carrier with a minimum spend of $180 in a single receipt.

The first 2,000 shoppers who spend a minimum of $800 will stand to receive a special-edition lo hei plate.

Citibank cardholders also get some exclusive rewards during this period.

Those with the Citi Paragon World MasterCard will receive $30 Paragon shopping vouchers when they charge a minimum of $380 to their card.

The first 100 Citi Paragon World MasterCard members who spend at least $1,300, in not more than three receipts from the same day, will also receive a Crabtree & Evelyn diffuser.

Citi Paragon Platinum MasterCard and other Citibank credit or debit cardholders will receive $20 Paragon shopping vouchers when they charge $380 to their card.

The first 25 Citibank credit or debit cardholders who spend a minimum of $16,000, in not more than three receipts from the same day, will receive a pouch from Etro worth $450.
