SINGAPORE - With some broadband users still having trouble getting online almost a week after a fire at a SingTel facility, the telco has announced a compensation package.
It will compensate some 60,000 customers who were affected, SingTel said on Monday.
Those who suffered a disruption in broadband services will get a speed boost for the next three months and affected mio TV customers will be able to watch all its channels free for a month. Those who had their telephone services disrupted will get free local calls for a month.
SingTel said it has managed to restore all its connections, but added that there might still be some "fine-tuning" to be done.
On Monday night, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore issued a statement saying that some customers were still experiencing difficulties in their broadband connections, and that it is monitoring the situation closely.
It said SingTel is working to restore services and added that the operators "should cooperate and step up their efforts urgently to ensure that the remaining affected customers get their connectivity immediately".
