Google Maps adds 31 indoor destinations in S'pore

SINGAPORE - Google is extending Indoor Google Maps to 31 popular venues in Singapore.

Have you ever arranged to meet someone on level four of some massive shopping mall, near one of the fountains, or next to that coffee shop you've never actually been to? Now, Indoor Google Maps on Android and iOS in Singapore can guide you inside buildings.

Earlier this year, Google introduced Indoor Google Maps to Singapore for the first time, to help you find your way indoors within 22 shopping malls. From today onwards, you can navigate through 31 new multi-floor buildings in Singapore with Indoor Google Maps, including museums, convention centres, a hotel and library, and even more malls.

Iconic Singapore buildings like the Singapore Art Museum, the National Library and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel now have their floor plans uploaded to Google Maps. The maps are automatically turned on when you zoom in on a location, and then fade away when the map is zoomed out. And for buildings with multiple floors, you can also switch between floor plans for different levels - simply use the tool to the right hand side of the screen which shows you which floor you're looking at.

For this update, Google has partnered with some of the most popular Singapore venues including:

- ArtScience Museum
- Asian Civilisations Museum
- Central
- City Square Mall
- Forum The Shopping Mall
- Great World City
- Heartland Mall-Kovan
