'Leg gun' pose the latest trend to take the Internet by storm in Asia

Forget planking, batmanning or owling - another new trend has moved in as the latest viral meme to hit Asia and is rapidly spreading to other parts of the world.

People are seen posing for photos while holding up their legs as guns - and they just keep getting increasingly creative.

This includes going from posing in the comfort of their own homes to pictures taken in public and tourist attractions. They also show people in various animated poses.

According to a report on Beijing Cream, there is even a whole Instagram account dedicated to all 'leg gun' photos.

The trend apparently originated when someone in a studio saw Chinese dancers in the pose.

"A colleague saw a post of the Chinese dancers then took a photo. The rest of us started doing our own versions," said someone from the studio.
