Review: Manfrotto BeFree Tripod

$315

Need a compact and lightweight tripod for your travels? Take a look at the Manfrotto BeFree Tripod.

It has a unique folding mechanism, where the aluminium legs fold around the head, and a quick-release plate attachment. In this closed position, it measures only 40cm in length, allowing you to easily stuff it into the pocket or compartment of your bag.

In addition, the BeFree weighs just 1.4kg - lighter than many laptops - so it will not weigh you down like other conventional tripods. However, it can still handle up to 4kg of payload, allowing you to mount a DSLR camera with a heavy long zoom lens.
