The 33-year-old, who has three children, and 18 other contestants between the ages of 25 and 49 battled it out last night for the title of Mrs Singapore.

Another seven contestants took part in the Classic contest, for those aged 50 and above.

They strutted their stuff in front of an audience of 550.

The contest winners had not been announced by press time.

According to organisers, the event celebrates "successful, empowered modern women" who contribute significantly to both family and society.

Last year's Mrs Singapore was Mrs Christy Lim, 38, a polytechnic lecturer.
