Hong Kong film director Oxide Pang Chun has rushed to Malaysia to save his marriage with Malaysian actress-singer Lee Sin Jie following news reports that he is going out with another woman, major Chinese dailies reported.
The 48-year-old Pang flew into Malaysia on Monday to seek forgiveness from Lee, who is said to be in Kuala Lumpur taking care of his 12-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Sources said Lee's parents, who are staying in Alor Setar, had gone to Kuala Lumpur to accompany Lee after the news broke.
"Let the couple settle the matter," said Lee's mother to China Press when contacted.
Lee's best friends Charlie Yeung, Gigi Leung and Valen Hsu were said to be worried about Lee after hearing the news but they did not know how to console her.
There had been speculation that the couple were having marital problems in recent years and that they stayed separately in Hong Kong.
Pang had been reported to be seen going for a movie with 26-year-old Liddy Li in Hong Kong recently.
They were also seen kissing, hugging and holding hands in public.
The 38-year-old Lee married Pang in 2010 after dating him for seven years. Since then, she has been in Malaysia most of the time to take care of Pang's daughter, who is currently studying in the country.
