Elva gushes about new Singapore beau

Taipei - She was out promoting her album Shut Up And Kiss Me, but singer Elva Hsiao was far from inclined to shut up.

The Taiwanese last Saturday appeared publicly for the first time after recent news of her break-up from actor Kai Ko and gushed about Elroy Cheo, the Singaporean she has been linked with following the split.

"He is a good man who is worth getting to know," she said and asked for space so that she could do "what feels at heart to be happy and comfortable".

She added that a romance would be a comforting and happy experience, Apple Daily reported.

Cheo, whose sister Arissa Cheo is married to singer Van Ness Wu, reportedly works on city development projects in Hangzhou, China.

But Hsiao said they communicate daily. They are still getting to know each other and he is someone she wishes to know better, she added.

Asked about Kai, she appeared to confirm the end of their two-year romance, saying: "I cherish very much all that I once had and have bravely given of myself. At the end of this journey, there would inevitably be hurt on both sides."

She recently posted an Instagram photo of herself with the pet dog she and Kai had, leading people to think they had reconciled.

But Hsiao, 34, said Papi is her dog as it lives with her.

Would she not feel awkward if she bumps into Kai, 23, while walking the dog? "I won't know till it happens," she replied.
