Fendi bags for charity

Fendi bags for charity

Fendi has launched the Peekaboo project to raise funds for underprivileged children.

Ten notable figures, such as actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and architect Zaha Hadid, have each personalised Fendi's iconic Peekaboo handbag for an auction. The design on the left is by singer Adele, which features an amused female expression on the large Peekaboo bag made out of romano leather.

The starting price for each of the 10 bags is £15,000 (S$31,690). The auction started yesterday at www.fendi.com/peekaboo-auction. It ends on May 30.

All funds raised will go towards Kids Company, a charity for at-risk children and youngsters in London and Bristol. This is the first time the Italian fashion house is supporting this charity. The famous women will also each get to keep a copy of the bag they designed.

The Peekaboo project is also being held to celebrate the opening of the new London Fendi flagship store, which opened yesterday.
