Raoul springs new collection in NY

Singapore fashion label Raoul has unveiled its Spring 2014 collection during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City.

The collection features 1960s-style shift dresses, A-line skirts, soft pressed-flower trousers, as well as matte and metallic-like leather separates.

Mrs Odile Benjamin, creative director of Raoul, said the collection was largely influenced by Ben Nicholson, a British painter known for his geometric and abstract works.

This is the second year the home-grown fashion label has showcased at the New York Fashion Week, which is one of the most prestigious events in the international fashion calendar.

Notable attendees included Hollywood actresses Kelly Rutherford and Kristen Connolly.

The collection will be in stores by the end of January next year.
