Thomas Tait at Audi Fashion Fest

Canadian designer Thomas Tait has been added to the line-up of international designers who will showcase their collections at this year's Audi Fashion Festival.

He will join veteran American designer Oscar de la Renta, Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung and London-based Singaporean designer Ashley Isham at the annual event, which will be held from May 14 to 18 at the Tents@Ngee Ann City.

Tait, who launched his eponymous label in 2010 after his masters, is known for his unique aesthetic, which blends elements of structure and fluidity.

At the age of 24, he was the youngest student to complete a master's programme in womenswear at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

The London-based Tait will showcase his autumn/winter 2014 collection at the event. Expect colour-blocking and harlequin influences.

Singapore labels - Exhibit, hansel, Ong Shunmugam and Saturday - will also stage their own shows.

This is the largest number of local designers in Audi Fashion Festival's six-year history.

Other local brands, including womenswear labels Aijek, A.W.O.L and Triologie, will show their creations as part of a bigger show.

In all, there will be close to 20 shows and most of these will be open to the public.

Ticketing information will be announced later.
