Van Ness Wu and Singaporean designer tie the knot

Taiwanese-American celebrity Van Ness Wu has married his longtime girlfriend of seven years, Singaporean jewellery designer Arissa Cheo, at a private ceremony yesterday afternoon (Nov 7), Lianhe Wanbao reported.

It was reported in August that the couple had secretly applied to register their marriage on National Day.

According to the Chinese evening daily, the couple were formally married at the Registry of Marriages (ROM) at Canning Rise, with Arissa's parents as witnesses.

It was a private affair with a few invited guests, and the couple returned to Arissa's parents' home at Bukit Timah in a BMW afterwards.

According to Taiwan's Apple Daily publication, the couple will hold their wedding reception in Los Angeles next Friday, Nov 15.

The event will reportedly be held at Newport Beach's The Resort at Pelican Hill.

Room rates at the luxurious five-star hotel start from $500 and up, with a villa costing $3,800 a night.

Wanbao also reported that guests to the wedding have already received their invitations, even before the couple's ROM ceremony on Thursday.

According to sources, the wedding invite features a graphic of a unicorn and a horse, with their initials, "VA".

The couple also requested that guests do not take photos on the day or upload them to social media.
