All eyes on amazing flying machine

Team "Q1-Lion" from the National University of Singapore demonstrating its unmanned aerial vehicle at the 6th Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition last Saturday at the Singapore Science Centre.

It won second prize in the automated plane category of the competition, which attracted a record 1,290 participants.

In top place was team "Bombus" from Nanyang Polytechnic.

In the Unconventional Category, in which the aim was to come up with flying inventions that looked like "space-alien aircraft", the contest had its youngest-ever contenders from Jurong Primary School.

The competition, which was organised by DSO National Laboratories and the Science Centre Singapore, ended last Saturday with Mr Chan Yeng Kit, Permanent Secretary (Defence), presiding over the awards ceremony.
