Experienced principals will go to heartland

Some of the most experienced and well regarded principals will be posted to schools in the heartland as part of the Education Ministry's (MOE) effort to make every school a good school, said Education Minister Heng Swee Keat.

Mr Heng, who spoke at an event last night, was referring to the latest round of posting of principals which the ministry will be announcing soon.

"Moe takes great pain to develop our school leaders and to deploy them in meaningful assignments, to continue to challenge and develop our leaders, and to bring new ideas and expertise to schools," he said.

"This is how our renewal process recharges our school leaders and enables us to spread best practices and inject fresh perspectives across our education system."

He was speaking at a graduation dinner for the six-month-long National institute of education leaders in education Programme that trains vice-principals before they take over as principals. A total of 26 school leaders, including three from brunei, received their graduation certificates.
