She may have yet to complete her diploma, but hospitality student Seraphina Teo believes that she has got a head-start over her peers in the industry.
Miss Teo, 18, is currently pursuing her diploma in hospitality and is adamant that her school's diversity can only benefit her.
She said: "Compared to other schools, TMC Academy has many more international students and lecturers. You learn how to communicate better with non-locals and I think that's a very important skill in the hospitality industry."
Miss Teo, who enrolled in the school in February, admitted that she did not do very well for her O levels. She said: "My results weren't that great, and that meant that I didn't have as many options after graduation compared to my peers, but I think that I'm coping a lot better with my studies now.
"Over here (at TMC Academy), the courses are structured in such a way that you have to first complete foundation modules meant to prepare you for the rest of your coursework.
"I wouldn't say that the work is a lot easier here but the system is planned out in such a way that students aren't left behind."
Miss Teo has since completed her foundation modules and scored distinctions for many of her modules.
She attributes her academic achievements to her lecturers' practical approach to teaching.
She said: "I've always felt that I was better at hands-on learning as compared to just sitting down and memorising a whole lot of theory.
