Learning for life not grades

Do you prepare your children for exams or do you prepare them for life?

That issue bugged my wife and me several months back. The answer was no less troubling - to give our three boys an edge, we're quitting the education system here.

While we have all the necessary tools here for our boys to do well in school, we don't think doing well here is enough for them to be employable global citizens.

Next year, my children and wife will be living in Sydney, Australia. My children's education will continue in schools there.

Moving is a monumental decision. Here, we're surrounded by family, with two sets of grandparents living with us, cousins nearby and the extended family always gathering for festive occasions.

In Sydney, I have only my brother and his family, which includes two boys, 13 and 12.

Why the move?
