School bullies plead guilty

BUKIT MERTAJAM - Three secondary school students in Seberang Jaya, Butterworth, have admitted bullying their classmate.

All the three aged 15 pleaded guilty when the charge was read to them in the magistrate's court here yesterday.

They were charged with committing the offence in their school at about 2.25pm on March 4.

The charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt carries up to 12 months in jail, a maximum fine of RM2,000 or both upon conviction.

DPP Kamalizah Md Zain appeared for the prosecution.

Magistrate Nur Zafirah Muhamed Ali set bail at RM1,500 each and fixed Nov 28 to deliver the sentence.

It was reported that a video of the assault was uploaded onto YouTube and it went viral.
