Singapore comes out tops for the 4th year in International Baccalaureate exams

Of the 975 students here who took the exams in November last year, 43 students here achieved the perfect score of 45, up from 41 in 2012.

32 ACS (I) students attain perfect scores for IB exam

International Baccalaureate students at the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) received their results from the school at noon on Monday.

Of those who achieved a perfect score in Singapore, 32 of them were students from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent).

The school said in a statement to the media that 457 of its students took the IB examination. The average score was 41.54 points out of the maximum 45 points, which was above the national average of 36.53 points. The passing mark in Singapore was 96.82 per cent, report The Straits Times.

81.2 per cent of the school's 7th cohort of students taking the exam obtained 40 points and more. 

As part of the IB Diploma Programme, students had to take six subjects and must complete three core requirements which are designed to challenge and broaden the educational experience.

Principal of ACS (Independent), Mr Winston Hodge said: "The IBDP offers a rigorous and holistic programme to develop our students to meet the challenges of an increasingly globalised and complex world.

"Our students have benefitted from the programme and performed strongly. We are proud of them and share in their joy and success."
