CHINA - A 4-and-a-half-year old boy abandoned by his father at a kindergarten in Sichuan province has been cared for by a teacher for the past 10 months, West China Metropolis Daily reported.
The boy's father left him at the kindergarten in Panzhihua in February and has not been seen since.
The boy first came to the kindergarten last year when his father brought him to its full-time nursery section. At that time, he visited his son often.
When the new semester started after Spring Festival in February, his father brought him to the kindergarten and never returned.
Liu Ping, headmistress of the kindergarten, told West China Metropolis Daily the boy's father cannot be reached by phone.
The boy's mother told Liu she had divorced the boy's father who is his guardian, and it is not her business to care for the boy.
Although the kindergarten has not been paid fees for the boy for a long time, Li Shuzhen, a teacher, has been taking care of him.
