Office of Basic Education chief Chinnapat Bhumirat said yesterday that a survey found that as many as 100,000 pupils were unable to read. Citing data from 181 educational zones, Chinnapat said 35,863 of the 441,988 Pathom 6 students and 68,401 of the 442,618 Prathom 3 pupils were rated as poor readers and needed to improve.
