A University of Indonesia (UI) student, identified only by the initials RW, has reportedly faced constant intimidation after she file a police report against noted poet Sitok Srengenge.
"Intimidation has been launched against the victim, her family and anyone close to her," UI lecturer Saras Dewi, who is counseling the student, told The Jakarta Post by phone on Monday.
Saras said some of the intimidation was in the form of blitz attacks through social media that inferred that RW had not been interfered with and only had herself to blame for her misfortune.
RW reported Sitok to the Jakarta Police on Friday. The 21-year-old student accused the 48-year old poet, who is one of the main curators of the Salihara art community, to have committed date rape, which resulted in her falling pregnant.
Sitok, in his defence, said as quoted by tempo.co that intercourse between him and RW had been consensual.
