Woodlands Secondary HOD wins Most Inspiring Tamil Teacher award

SINGAPORE - Mr Thirumaran Thangaraju has won the Most Inspiring Tamil Teacher award in the Secondary School category of the Most Inspiring Tamil Teachers (MITT) awards.

He received his award from Minister of State for Education Ms Sim Ann at an award ceremony held on Saturday morning at the Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre.

Mr Thirumaran Thangaraju wins $1,000 cash prize and a trophy.

The awards hosted by Tamil Murasu, aims to recognise Tamil teachers who have made a difference to students' lives through the teaching of the language.

Each year, three teachers each from the primary, secondary and JC categories are chosen for the awards. This year, more than 100 nominations were received from students, ex-students, parents and co-teachers.
