GE2015: 4 assembly centres assigned to political parties on Polling Day

The Police Elections Permits Office said on Thursday that it has issued permits for assembly centres where candidates, their supporters and members of the public may gather to wait for the announcement of election results on Polling Day Sept 11.

These assembly centres will open from 8pm on Sept 11 and close 30 minutes after the announcement of the last result of the General Election:

The police added that any other public gathering of supporters at indoor or outdoor locations without a permit may constitute an offence of unlawful assembly.

Members of the public are also advised to take public transport to the assembly centres as large crowds are expected to gather at these locations. Traffic in the vicinities of the assembly centres may also be diverted.

Police officers will be deployed at the assembly centres to maintain law and order. In addition, the operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or drones is prohibited at these locations for public safety.
