SDP unveils fourth batch of candidates

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) has revealed two more candidates for the upcoming election on Friday (Aug 28).

SDP chairman Mr Jeffrey George introduced Mr Bryan Lim and Mr Damanhuri Abas to the press at the party headquarters in Ang Mo Kio.

The Straits Times reported that Mr Lim, 38, is in charge of the party's ground operations unit while Mr Abas, 45, is the director of an Islamic college.

Today's announcement brings the SDP's total count of contesting candidates to eight. The party has not revealed where all the candidates will be fielded.

The candidates are: Compliance auditor Mr Sidek Mallek, psychologist Mr John Tan, healthcare administrator Ms Chong Wai Fung, former Navy staff sergeant Mr Khung Wai Yeen, sales director Ms Jaslyn Go, and NUS professor Dr Paul Tambyah.
