Stuck with EPL contract
WHEN I operated a wine bar, I signed a recurring two-year contract with SingTel to screen English Premier League matches.
Recently, my landlord terminated my lease because of upgrading work being carried out in the complex, so I asked SingTel if I could terminate the service.
I was told that I had to fulfil the contract even though I did not have a place to which I could transfer my screening rights.
It was also not possible to downgrade my original contract, which was for a big screen and quite pricey.
Why is SingTel so inflexible even when customers have valid and unforeseen reasons for terminating their contracts?
