I refer to the article, "Takes two to tango but many to argue" (My Paper, July 10).
It is the parents' responsibility to guide and educate their children on the choice of reading material.
I have nothing against any book or material about alternative lifestyles. This is because the world is already flooded with even more disastrous material - such as those on violence, wars, murders and terrorism - via the Internet and television.
It is also the duty of parents to make sure that their children are properly guided when they watch such programmes because some children may think that it is all right or even cool to commit such offences.
I applaud the National Library Board for being open-minded in bringing in such titles and making them available to those parents in Singapore who want to educate their children about alternative lifestyles and the differences in society.
