Singapore Turf Club spreads festive cheer to underprivileged children

SINGAPORE - Around 110 Singapore Turf Club staff spread the festive cheer to beneficiaries from its adopted charity, Thye Hua Kwan EIPIC Centre at Woodlands by buying surprise gifts for the children, who received their presents with joy at the Singapore Racecourse.

Over 3,000 members of the public visited the Singapore Racecourse this evening, basking in the carnival atmosphere of the Fun for All Under The Stars event, a key element in STC’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

Families were treated to an exclusive movie screening of Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted on a giant screen.

Children grew excited over meeting their favourite Turf Club mascots, Racer and Clover, getting up close and having their pictures taken together.

A myriad of carnival activities such as the colouring contest, balloon giveaways, balloon sculpting, face-painting and game stalls, as well as pony rides for a worthy cause kept the momentum going strong through the evening.

A total of $1,660 from the pony ride proceeds were donated to Singapore Turf Club’s adopted charity - Thye Hua Kwan EIPIC Centre at Woodlands and would aid towards meeting the needs of its young beneficiaries.

The public also got to watch the horses in action on the tracks and visit the equine and Corporate Social Responsibility exhibition displays.
