STJobs and STCars win Silver in 2013 W3 Awards

SINGAPORE - Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) ST701, Singapore's trusted Online Classifieds, won two Silvers in the 2013 W3 Awards. The winners were announced by The International Academy of Visual Arts (IAVA) last month.

Two of ST701's products, STJobs and STCars, bagged a Silver for General Website Categories (Employment) and Mobile Applications (Services) respectively.

The W3 Awards honours creative excellence on the web, and recognises the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, videos and marketing programs. It is judged by the IAVA, an invitation-only body consisting of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts. This year, it received more than 4,000 entries in various categories from top companies and agencies worldwide.

Entries were judged based on a standard of excellence as determined by the IAVA, according to the category entered. To uphold a high standard of excellence, a category may have multiple winners, or no winner at all.

Websites were judged on their creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design, and ease of use. Entries for the Marketing category were judged by their creativity, impact, messaging, copywriting, and use of medium.

Mr Johnson Goh, Head and Vice President of ST701, said: "We are heartened that our work is recognised by a very established panel of professionals and an international body. We are glad and hopeful that our users can benefit from our best-of-class features. Together with our other products such as STClassifieds and STProperty, STJobs and STCars will strive to improve on our functionalities so as to remain relevant and to provide the best value and highest quality for our members and advertisers."

Since its launch last year, STJobs has seen a 250 per cent increase in unique visitors to its site. The STCars app has also recorded more than 40,000 free downloads across all smartphone platforms since its inception early this year, with both figures still growing.
