Bruce Lee's iconic yellow jumpsuit, personal items for sale at Spink auction

Singapore - Personal items and film memorabilia of legendary martial arts hero Bruce Lee will be going under the hammer on Dec 5 at Spink's Hong Kong auction house.

The Chinese martial arts celebrity, who passed away 40 years ago, left behind a unique collection which will be up for sale including his jewellery, art works and even his self-designed yellow 'Game of Death' jumpsuit.

Another highlight from the sale includes the late Lee's jade pendant, which features the classic Yin-Yang symbol that was used in his personal letterhead and publications.

Autographed brochures and a hand-drawn panting of a Chinese master monk, a character created by Lee for a film project in 1973, will also be going under the hammer. Fans of the late star can bid on some of the martial arts weapons used in his films, like the nunchaku which has a starting price of HK$200,000 (S$32,240).

The sale is estimated by the British auction house to fetch HK$1 to 1.5 million (S$161,300 - 241,350).

Described as a pop culture icon and a household name, Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco in 1940 and triumphed over adversity in his career in film and martial arts. Though he lived for a brief 32 years, Lee left a legacy of profound teachings and philosophy through his work.

The sale will take place at Spink's Hong Kong auction house on Dec 5, at 6pm.
